Overcoming Objections

Overcoming Objections is a key to closing more deals.  Every customer in the world will give you a reason not to buy–you must rebuttal them with a reason to!

There are many tools you can use to overcome an objection.  The most important things to remember are…

  • Do not get confrontational with the customer.
  • Do not try to ignore the objection (there are times you need to circumvent it but you must come back to answer it.)
  • Do not over talk your answer to the objection…Answer it and move on.
  • Always try to close the customer after any objection they give you.  Objections are buying signals!!!

Just like in sports there is a proper technique to rebuttals.  The best secret is to practice them over and over by running the scenarios through your head and writing them on paper.  It doesn’t matter if you are cold calling, working in a retail store, on a customer service call on the phone or sitting in a board room with a table full of executives…handling their objections is the only way you will increase your paycheck.
